Biography
Sir Alec Guinness was a renowned English actor born on April 2, 1914. He won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Colonel Nicholson in The Bridge on the River Kwai and is best known for playing Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars trilogy. A highly acclaimed stage and film performer, Guinness was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1959 for his services to the arts.
