H.M.S. Defiant

In the 1962 British naval war film "H.M.S. Defiant," Captain Crawford (Alec Guinness) leads the HMS Defiant during the French Revolutionary Wars. He faces opposition from his first officer, Lieut. Scott-Padget (Dirk Bogarde), who is fueled by his desire for power and his sadistic nature. The crew, led by seaman Vizard, prepares a petition for better conditions, but Scott-Padget's actions drive them to mutiny.
