Last Holiday

George Bird, an unassuming salesman of agricultural implements, visits a physician for a routine check-up and is told he has a terminal disease and only a short time to live. He decides to spend his final days in an expensive hotel, where he acquires friends and a love interest who eventually learn of his plight. George Bird, played by Alec Guinness, takes on a new identity by acquiring a bespoke tailored wardrobe, which leads to him being mistaken for a wealthy gentleman by the hotel's elite residents.
