The Abominable Dr. Phibes

Dr. Anton Phibes, a famous concert organist and doctorate holder in music and theology, is believed to have been killed in a car crash in Switzerland while racing home upon hearing of his wife's death during surgery. He has returned secretly in London with the help of his mute assistant Vulnavia (Virginia North), who was once his lover. Phibes seeks revenge on the doctors he believes were responsible for his wife's death, using the biblical Ten Plagues of Egypt as inspiration, and targets those who worked under Dr. Vesalius (Joseph Cotten), Victoria's treating surgeon.
