In 1927, silent film star George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) is struggling to adapt to the changing Hollywood landscape as talking pictures begin to replace silent films. He meets Peppy Miller (Bérénice Bejo), a young dancer who becomes his muse and helps him navigate the industry's shift towards sound.
