The Promise

Princess Qingcheng (Cecilia Cheung), driven by poverty as a young girl, makes a promise with an enchantress, trading her chance at genuine love for a life of luxury and admiration. She becomes the King's concubine but later falls in love with General Guangming (Hiroyuki Sanada) after mistaking him for another man who saved her earlier. A slave named Kunlun (Jang Dong-gun), who is actually the one who saved the General, joins forces with Qingcheng and Snow Wolf (Liu Ye) to avenge their past traumas and bring down the evil Duke Wuhuan (Nicholas Tse).
