Roman Scandals

In this zany and entertaining pre-Code romp, Eddie Cantor stars as a self-proclaimed history buff who finds himself transported from modern-day Oklahoma to ancient Rome, where he gets caught up in a murder plot against Emperor Valerius. As food taster for the corrupt ruler, Cantor must navigate treacherous court politics and romance with Princess Sylvia while trying to stay one step ahead of danger. Along the way, he commandeers a chariot and proves himself a hero, ultimately returning to his own time to foil a modern-day plot by scheming politicians. With elaborate production numbers and Busby Berkeley choreography, Roman Scandals is a visually stunning and fun musical comedy.
