A young Southerner's obsession with James Dean reaches a fever pitch after the actor's sudden death in a car crash. As Jimmy J.'s grip on reality begins to slip, he hosts an increasingly erratic séance at his friend Billie Jean's house, attempting to contact Dean's spirit and cope with the loss of his idol. In the aftermath, Jimmy J.'s relationships with those around him begin to fray, leading to a poignant confrontation that forces him to confront the fragility of life and the power of cinema to captivate and destroy.
