Season of the Devil

Season of the Devil is a 2018 Filipino musical film that tells the story of a young doctor Lorena (Shaina Magdayao) who opens a clinic for the poor in a remote Philippine village controlled by military forces in the late 1970s. Her activist poet husband, Hugo (Piolo Pascual), sets out to find her after she disappears without a trace. The film won several awards, including Best Picture at the 58th International Film Festival of Cartagena de Indias and the Grand Jury Prize for Film at the 2019 FAMAS Awards.
