Having a Wild Weekend

In this 1965 film, pop band the Dave Clark Five's popularity rivals that of the Beatles as they star in a vehicle for their hit song "Catch Us If You Can". The story follows Dinah, a famous model and actress, who escapes her limelight with stuntman Steve, and his friends, on a wild island getaway. But when Dinah goes missing, everyone is looking for her, making the adventure anything but tranquil. This debut film from director John Boorman captures cultural energy of the time, exploring themes of personal relationships, dreams, and authenticity in a "society of the spectacle".
