The Robe

A lavishly coloured tale of ancient Rome, "The Robe" follows Marcellus Gallio, a Roman military tribune, as he commands the unit responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus. After purchasing the legendary robe from the body of Christ at Calvary, Marcellus experiences disturbing visions and feels guilty for his actions. Convinced that destroying the robe will cure him, Marcellus sets out to find a slave named Demetrius, who possesses the robe – and discovers Christian faith along the way, leading him down a path of redemption and eternal life.
