Victor Mature

Biography

Victor Mature was a leading man in Hollywood during the 1940s and 1950s, known for his roles in Westerns and Biblical films like "My Darling Clementine" (1946), "The Robe" (1953), and "Samson and Delilah" (1949). He also starred with Esther Williams in "Million Dollar Mermaid" (1952) and, reportedly, had a romantic relationship with her. After a five-year retirement, Mature parodied himself in "After the Fox" (1966) and appeared in "Head" (1968), a potpourri movie starring The Monkees. He was famously self-deprecatory about his acting skills.
