Hannibal

In this historical adventure film, Victor Mature stars as Hannibal, the renowned Carthaginian general, as he leads his army and elephants across the Alps to conquer Rome. Along the way, he forms an alliance with a local chieftain and falls in love with Sylvia (Rita Gam), niece of Roman senator Fabius Maximus (Gabriele Ferzetti). Despite the warnings of Fabius, Hannibal's campaign culminates in a massive Roman defeat at Cannae.
