In Michelangelo Antonioni's 1982 drama "Identification of a Woman," director Niccolò navigates a complex web of desire and obsession after his wife leaves him. His all-consuming passion for a young aristocrat named Mavi drives him to the brink of madness, leading him on a surreal journey through Rome and Venice in search of her elusive presence. Ultimately, he finds solace with a working-class actress, but only after she reveals that Mavi is gone forever, lost to his own blackmailer and the fragility of human connection.
