Sweet Liberty

In this hilarious comedy, Alan Alda plays Michael Burgess, a history professor whose scholarly book on the American Revolution is transformed into a Hollywood blockbuster. As the film crew descends upon his small college town, Burgess becomes embroiled in a series of absurd misadventures, including a romance with the Method actress Faith Healy (Michelle Pfeiffer) and a battle with his crazy mother's delusions. With Michael Caine bringing his trademark charm to the egotistical lead actor Elliott James, Sweet Liberty is a wacky tale of love, loyalty, and the lunacy of Hollywood politics.
