The Last Command

The Last Command is a 1928 American silent romantic drama film that tells the story of Grand Duke Sergius Alexander, a former Imperial Russian general and cousin of Czar Nicholas II. The film follows Sergius's life, from his time in Czarist Russia during the Revolution to his later years as a Hollywood extra, where he becomes embroiled in the production of a movie directed by a former revolutionary. Along the way, Sergius falls in love with Natalie Dabrova, a beautiful and charismatic actress who helps him escape capture by the Bolsheviks. The film features stunning cinematography and powerful performances from Emil Jannings as the titular character.
