Bells Are Ringing

Ella Peterson (Judy Holliday) is a telephone answering service operator with a flair for adopting identities to spice up her clients' lives. She becomes embroiled in the struggles of playwright Jeffrey Moss (Dean Martin), who needs inspiration to overcome his writer's block. As Ella introduces Jeffrey to a musician and actor, their careers begin to take off, but amidst the chaos, Ella must navigate her own feelings for Jeffrey while keeping her role as his confidante a secret.
