Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey star as the comedic duo "The Great Elmer and Company", helping Jerry Bronson (no actor mentioned) adopt a young boy named Spanky Milford to distract him from his lovelorn state. When Bronson makes up with his sweetheart, they're stuck with the little boy, but Spanky inherits a Kentucky fortune, leading the pair to Banesville where a bitter feud between the Milfords and Wakefields is brewing.
