The Racetrack Murders

Peter Brooks (Hansjörg Felmy), a cartoonist, becomes entangled in a web of betting fraud, inheritance schemes, and revenge as he investigates a series of gruesome murders surrounding Lord John Mant's prized thoroughbred horse favored to win the prestigious Royal Ascot race. The killings grow more brazen, involving a snake, a trumpet player shot mid-solo, and others dispatched by various means, with Inspector Bradley (Heinz Engelmann) working the case. As Brooks races to expose a conspiracy rooted in a potential cover-up of an earlier murder, he uncovers a complex scheme orchestrated by Ed Ranova (Wolfgang Lukschy), a ruthless loan shark, and the enigmatic Reverend Turner (Hans Nielsen).
