Walter Rilla was a German film actor of Jewish descent, born in Neunkirchen, Germany on August 22, 1894. He began his career on the German stage before transitioning to film during the silent era, including an early role in Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau's "The Grand Duke's Finances" in 1924. Rilla continued to act throughout World War II and its aftermath, alternating between roles in British and West German cinema, including notable performances in films such as "Malpertuis" and "Cairo", directed by his son Wolf Rilla. He passed away on November 21, 1980, in Rosenheim, Germany.
