Ballad of a Soldier

In "Ballad of a Soldier," a young Russian soldier named Alyosha Skvortsov is rewarded with a short leave of absence for his heroic deed on the battlefield. Feeling homesick, he sets off to visit his mother, but his kindhearted nature gets him sidetracked by helping others, including a lovely girl named Shura.
