Fiend Without a Face

In rural Winthrop, Manitoba, Canada, a series of unexplained deaths occurs among local farmers and residents, prompting Major Jeff Cummings to investigate the U.S. Air Force Interceptor Command Experimental Station No. 6. Suspicion falls on Professor R. E. Walgate, a retired British scientist who has been conducting research in mind over matter, but it's ultimately revealed that Walgate's experiments have created a malevolent and invisible thought projection that has become a killer brain with a spinal cord.
