To New Shores

Zarah Leander (Gloria Vane) and Willy Birgel (Sir Albert Finsbury) play significant roles in this 1937 drama about a cabaret singer wrongly convicted of check fraud and sentenced to seven years in an Australian prison. The film follows Gloria's struggles as she waits for her lover, who is also engaged to another woman. After learning of his engagement, Gloria's lover commits suicide, leading to a series of events that ultimately allow her to reunite with Henry Hoyer (Viktor Staal), the man who falls in love with her while she was in prison.
