Hamlet 2

Dana Marschz (Steve Coogan), a recovering alcoholic and failed actor turned high school drama teacher, conceives and stages a politically incorrect musical sequel to Shakespeare's Hamlet, featuring time travel and a new, more controversial content. His students, Rand Posin (Skylar Astin) and Epiphany Sellars (Phoebe Strole), gradually warm to the project, while Dana faces personal struggles, including his wife Brie leaving him for their boarder Gary. The play's production becomes a civil liberties issue, with activist Cricket Feldstein (Amy Poehler) supporting its cancellation, but ultimately wins over audiences despite initial mixed reception, thanks in part to Dana's endearing performance and the involvement of Elisabeth Shue as himself.
