The Mule

In 1983 Australia, television repairman Ray Jenkins is detained by customs officials with lethal narcotics hidden in his stomach. After being apprehended, he makes a desperate choice to defy his bodily functions and withhold the evidence – literally. Ray's best friend Gavin, a small-time criminal working for local property owner/crime lord Pat Shepherd, asks him to transport heroin on his return flight, leading to a series of events that test Ray's limits. As Ray tries to hold back his bodily functions, he is aided by codeine and comforted by Detective Paris, who eventually becomes corrupted and ultimately arrested alongside Pat, the man behind the scheme.
