Black as Night

"Black as Night" follows 15-year-old Shawna (Asjha Cooper) as she finds confidence in battling vampires that prey on New Orleans' disenfranchised population, including her mother who becomes one of the undead after being bitten by a vampire while walking home from a party. With the help of her best friend Pedro (Frabizio Guido), her crush Chris (Mason Beauchamp), and Granya (Abbie Gayle), Shawna assembles a team to take down the true mastermind, Babineaux (Keith David), a charismatic preacher using vampires to reclaim power for the oppressed. Their investigation leads them to uncover Babineaux's twisted plan and ultimately defeat him in a battle that leaves Pedro presumed dead but hints at his transformation into a vampire.
