The Beast

In 18th-century France, a wealthy man's daughter is promised in marriage to his son, Mathurin de l'Esperance, a dim-witted and deformed young man. As they prepare for their union, Lucy Broadhurst and her aunt Virginia arrive at the family's crumbling farmhouse, only to discover that a mysterious 'beast' has been stalking the nearby forest. When Mathurin is found dead, it becomes clear that he was not what he seemed, and Lucy begins to uncover dark secrets about his true nature.
