Paris When It Sizzles

William Holden stars as Richard Benson, a drunken writer hired by Alexander Meyerheim to write a screenplay, in this 1964 romantic comedy film. After hiring temporary secretary Gabrielle Simpson (Audrey Hepburn) to help him finish on time, they begin to weave a script together, imagining various scenarios for their unfolding romance. The screenplay spoofs the movie industry and actors, with allusions to earlier films featuring Holden and Hepburn. In the end, Richard confesses his love for Gabrielle and they run off together, sharing a kiss as Bastille Day fireworks erupt around them.
