The Big Job

A hapless gang of crooks, led by Sidney James, successfully pull off a bank robbery in 1950, but are caught and sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Fifteen years later, they emerge intent on retrieving their stolen loot, only to discover that the police station has been built over its hiding place - a tree trunk where George "The Great" Brain hid the £50,000 briefcase. The gang's inept attempts to break into the grounds lead to increasingly absurd and hilarious situations as they try to outsmart their bumbling landlady, her daughter, and a local police constable.
