Unhook the Stars

Mildred (Gena Rowlands), a widow living in Salt Lake City, finds herself redefining her life when her adult daughter moves out and leaves her alone for the first time. Her wayward neighbor Monica (Marisa Tomei) asks her to look after her young son J.J., played by Jake Lloyd, whom she is trying to escape an abusive husband. As Mildred forms a close relationship with J.J. and Monica, she learns valuable life lessons about herself and her relationships with others.
