Repast

In post-WWII Osaka, Michiyo Okamoto is forced to re-examine her dreary life and marriage when her husband's young and flirtatious cousin, Satoko, arrives for a brief stay to escape an arranged marriage. The two women bond over their lives, with Hatsunosuke suggesting that love can be found in unexpected ways. As Michiyo meets up with friends from school who are more carefree than she is, she becomes increasingly frustrated with her own life, feeling trapped and unfulfilled. Meanwhile, Satoko's presence sparks a rivalry for attention between the two men in their lives: Hatsunosuke and Kanazawa.
