Heaven and Earth

The film "Heaven and Earth" (1990) is a Japanese epic jidaigeki directed by Haruki Kadokawa, based on a novel by Chōgorō Kaionji. Set in feudal Japan, the story follows Kagetora (Takaaki Enoki as Uesugi Kenshin), a young samurai leader, as he pursues his rival Takeda Shingen (Masahiko Tsugawa) across the countryside. The two engage in massive battles of cavalry and infantry, with Takeda seeking to gain hegemony and Kagetora determined to stop him at all costs.
