On a Friday evening, Renée Soutendijk (Marion) and Götz George (Jörg), a former couple, are trapped in an elevator with Jörg's colleague Pit and bookkeeper Gössmann. As they struggle to survive the claustrophobic situation, a love triangle between Marion and Pit intensifies while Jörg's age and world view clash with Pit's youth.
