Carnival Story

In this melodramatic 1954 drama, Anne Baxter stars as Willi, a German girl who runs away to join an American carnival passing through Munich. As she becomes embroiled in the carnival's high-flying world of love and death, her relationships with two suitors - ruthless carny Joe (Steve Cochran) and kindhearted high-dive artist Frank (Lyle Bettger) - will put her life on a tightrope. With its Agfacolor/Technicolor visuals and pulsating rhythm, "Carnival Story" is an entertainingly filmed piece of suspense that explores the perils of love, infatuation, and high diving acts.
