Jay C. Flippen
Biography
Jay C. Flippen was an American character actor known for his roles as crusty sergeants, police officers, and weary criminals in film noir and Westerns of the 1940s and 1950s. He got his start in vaudeville at age 16, performing with the Al G. Field Minstrels before transitioning to standup comedy and eventually becoming a respected singer and stage actor. Flippen's career spanned from vaudeville to film, including notable roles in "Hellfighters," "Cat Ballou," and "Wild River."
