East of Sumatra

In this 1953 adventure film, Jeff Chandler plays Duke Mullane, a rugged manager who travels to a remote island in the jungle to open a new tin mine. There, he finds himself stranded with his crew, including a beautiful native dancer named Minyora (Suzan Ball), and his old flame Lory (Marilyn Maxwell), who is now engaged to his boss. As tensions rise between Duke and the island's ruler, King Kiang (Anthony Quinn), Duke must navigate treacherous jungle terrain, romantic entanglements, and native hostility in this action-packed tale of love, adventure, and survival.
