The Far Country

In 1896, James Stewart stars as Jeff Webster, a self-minded adventurer driven by gold fever, who clashes with an evil, corrupt judge in Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush. Forced to work for the saloon owner Ronda Castle (Ruth Roman) to transport supplies to Dawson City, Yukon, Jeff and his talkative partner Ben Tatum (Walter Brennan) must navigate lawlessness, corruption, and betrayal to survive. When Jeff arrives in Dawson, he finds a town plagued by outlaws and eventually finds himself caught up in a deadly showdown with the corrupt judge, determined to protect Ronda and claim his fortune.
