Steve Brodie was a prolific American actor born John Stevenson on November 21, 1919, in El Dorado, Kansas. He adopted his screen name as tribute to Steve Brodie, the daredevil who jumped from the Brooklyn Bridge in 1886 and survived. With a career spanning 1944-1988, Brodie appeared in 79 feature films and numerous television episodes, often playing supporting roles in westerns and B-movies alongside notable actors like Elvis Presley.
