The Steel Helmet

In the midst of the Korean War, a ragtag group of American stragglers, led by Sergeant Zack (Gene Evans), battles against superior Communist troops in an abandoned Buddhist temple. Alongside Corporal Thompson (James Edwards), a medic and African American soldier, and Japanese American Sergeant Tanaka, they face harsh realities and racism, all while trying to survive and establish a foothold against their enemy.
