The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms

A nuclear bomb test in the Arctic Circle awakens a 200-foot-long carnivorous dinosaur known as a Rhedosaurus, thawing it out of its icy incarcerated sleep. The creature begins making its way down the east coast of North America, wreaking havoc while traveling toward New York City. Physicist Thomas Nesbitt (Paul Hubschmid) is the only surviving witness to the beast's awakening and later joins forces with paleontologist Thurgood Elson (Cecil Kellaway) and his young assistant Lee Hunter (Paula Raymond) to stop the dinosaur before it reaches New York. In a desperate attempt to kill the creature, military sharpshooter Corporal Stone (Donald Woods) shoots a radioactive isotope into its neck wound, which ultimately leads to the Rhedosaurus's demise.
