Crossfire

A man is found brutally murdered in his apartment by Joseph Samuels, a former US Army soldier. Detective Finlay (Robert Young) suspects that one of a group of demobilized servicemen who had visited Samuels and his girlfriend might be the killer. As Finlay digs deeper into the case, he uncovers evidence pointing to antisemitism as the motive for Samuels' murder. The investigation leads him to suspect Sergeant Montgomery (Robert Ryan), who is clearly antisemitic, but ultimately, it is Montgomery's own bias that proves fatal.
