Gloria Grahame was an American actress who began her career in theater and made her film debut at MGM in 1944. She gained recognition for her work in film noir projects, earning a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for Crossfire (1947) and a win for The Bad and the Beautiful (1952). Her highest profile came with starring roles in Sudden Fear (1952), Human Desire (1953), and Oklahoma! (1955). She continued to act until her death from stomach cancer in 1981.
