Robert Ryan
Biography
Robert Ryan was born in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Dartmouth College, where he held the school's heavyweight boxing title. He transitioned to acting after a stint as a ranch hand in Montana, and gained recognition for his roles in films noir and Westerns, including Crossfire (1947) and The Wild Bunch (1969). Ryan was nominated for an Academy Award and won a BAFTA Award, solidifying his reputation as a talented character actor.
