Rose Constance Gilchrist was an American stage, film, and television actress born on July 17, 1895, in Brooklyn, New York. She began her career on stage at age 22 in London's 1917 productions before signing a 10-year contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1939. Notable roles include Hominy in "The Far Country" (1954), Ma Becker in "Machine-Gun Kelly," and iconic lines in "A Letter to Three Wives" and "Auntie Mame."
