Tenth Avenue Angel

In the 1948 drama film "Tenth Avenue Angel", eight-year-old Flavia Mills (Margaret O'Brien) lives with her mother Helen (Phyllis Thaxter) and father Joe (Warner Anderson) in a New York tenement during the Great Depression. Flavia's life is turned upside down when she discovers the truth about her aunt Susan's fiancé Steve (George Murphy), who has just been released from prison after serving time for gangster associations. As Flavia struggles to come to terms with the harsh realities of her family's situation, her faith in God and the stories she's been told are put to the test. With the help of her family, Flavia must learn to face the truth and find a way to heal and move forward.
