Wild River

In 1937, Chuck Glover, a young bureaucrat for the Tennessee Valley Authority, arrives in Garthville, Tennessee, tasked with overseeing the construction of a new hydroelectric dam. As he navigates the complex web of local politics and personal relationships, he finds himself drawn to Ella Garth's stubborn resistance to the TVA's plans, which threaten her family's way of life. Through his romance with her granddaughter, Carol, Chuck is forced to confront the darker underbelly of the New Deal and the true cost of progress in rural America.
