Desolation Center

The film "Desolation Center" (2018) is a documentary that explores a series of 1980s desert concerts in Southern California, which would later inspire Burning Man, Lollapalooza, and Coachella. The events were organized by Stuart Swezey, who was inspired to create these happenings after evading the police's crackdown on punk rock concerts in Los Angeles. The concert series, known as Desolation Center, took place between 1983 and 1985 and featured performances by iconic bands such as Sonic Youth, Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Swans, and Einstürzende Neubauten.
