The Last Remake of Beau Geste

In this 1977 British historical comedy film directed by Marty Feldman, a parody of classic desert motion pictures, Michael York plays Beau Geste, a dignified aristocrat who joins the French Foreign Legion alongside his "identical twin brother" Digby (Feldman), an awkward and clumsy double. The brothers find themselves in a desperate battle for life when Arabs attack their fort, amidst rivalries and tensions that threaten to tear them apart - all while Sergeant Markoff (Peter Ustinov) seeks to exploit a dark family secret involving a fabulous jewel one of them carries.
