In "A Chinese Tall Story," Tripitaka (Nicholas Tse) and his three disciples are captured by evil Tree Spirits while on their journey to acquire Buddhist scriptures. He meets Meiyan (Charlene Choi), a girl who is half-human and half monster, and together they embark on a fantastic adventure filled with hardships and battles that will decide the fate of humanity and the universe. Along the way, they team up with Princess Xiaoshan (Fan Bingbing) and her army to defeat their enemies and face various challenges.
