Blank Generation

In this 1980 American-produced music drama, French journalist Nada Lumiere becomes entangled in a volatile relationship with rising New York City musician Billy, who struggles to balance his burgeoning success with emotional turmoil and detachment. As their on-again, off-again romance continues, Nada finds herself torn between her connection with Billy and rekindling an old love affair. Meanwhile, Billy's increasing commercial success threatens to compromise his artistic vision, leading him down a path of disillusionment and heartbreak. Through the lens of this tumultuous relationship, director Ulli Lommel captures the raw energy and disillusionment of New York City's punk rock scene.
